Ever Wonder Who's Running the Show?

If you're a student of human behavior—and really, who isn't?—you may have heard of the enneagram, a deceptively simple theory of personality. While such systems can be subverted to grossly understate our complexity, they can also serve as an eerily powerful tool for understanding what motivates us, how we work, what we fear, and how to better relate to those we love.

That's why we're beyond thrilled to welcome our friend Jacob Rubin—novelist, poet, and "enneagram consultant"—for a live and very interactive evening centering around the enneagram. In Jacob's own  luminous words, taken from a recent essay in The Paris Review

“While as a numerical typology, the enneagram may seem like a tacky attempt to reduce human complexity, it is intended to do the opposite. The system invites us to enlarge our sense of self and to seek out renewed—really, restored—relationships with the world, other people, and our own life. To return to the image of stained glass, working with the enneagram often means finding new stencils, in the mosaic of our lives, for the colors that already stream inside us. I am moved by this model because it takes seriously how scary the process of being alive can be, and how possible.”
