now on sale: Death Trip (the audiobook)

Author Seth Lorinczi during recording of his audiobook "Death Trip: A Post-Holocaust Psychedelic Memoir"

Taking listeners on a journey from Portland’s ayahuasca basements to the streets of Budapest during the darkest days of the Second World War, Death Trip is by turns wrenching and hilarious. A marriage story, a psychedelic journey and a search for meaning in the wake of the unthinkable, the audiobook—read by the author—asks whether trauma can be inherited and, if so, if psychedelics can help us heal.

What authors are saying:

“Lorinczi’s journey through MDMA therapy takes him into a labyrinth of family secrets and ancestral trauma. The story of what he finds there—and how it changes him—is as gripping and propulsive as a crime novel. I was captivated the whole way through.”
-Leni Zumas, Red Clocks

“A very unique, courageous, and deeply moving book; I have personally never seen anything else like it.” -Paul Levy, Undreaming Wetiko

What readers are saying:

“Lorinczi has a deft hand at memoir—one has the sense that the narrator is doing open-heart surgery in front of you—on his own living body and soul…his experiences delving into his family's past, his own epigenetic trauma and the problems in his marriage become absolutely riveting.”
-N.H.

“I could not put this book down. In the introduction, the author highlights that it would be roughly twelve hours. I will tell you: I definitely devoured it before then. Riveting, heart-wrenching, and a pillar of hope to keep showing up.” -A.G.

“It feels wrong to call a book of this style a page-turner, but it is. [It] tackles big ideas and nuanced topics with grace.” -A.T.

We’re a group of Portland writers, musicians, and artists. Finding that the stories we want to tell don’t fit a single genre or style (and that traditional paths to publication are too narrow, restrictive, and slow) we decided to take matters into our own hands.

“imaginal discs”

A colorful illustration of a butterfly surrounded by various plants and flowers on a black background, painted by Julianna Bright.

Interwoven with enchantments, driving percussion and verdant, devotional lyrics, Imaginal Discs is a plea for beauty and remembering a time before we were separated from the sacredness of all things.

Imaginal Discs is also a celebration: of the gifts of solitude and connection, of dreamtime and awakening and of the sacred intelligence of the body. It is an ode to Bright's family, a fierce claiming of all her life's most delicate material, and a joyous “YES” to all of it.

Most of all, Imaginal Discs is an invitation. Whatever you’ve longed for in your most innocent hour has never abandoned you. It is your very Divine Self that longs to be remembered.

“We can hardly escape the feeling that the unconscious process moves spiral-wise round a centre, gradually getting closer, while the characteristics of the centre grow more and more distinct.”
